Moonler, a handcrafted solid wood furniture brand from Doi Saket, Chiang Mai, Thailand, is participating in the Thailand Exhibition at Casa Decor Madrid 2026. The exhibition runs from 9 April to 24 May 2026 at San Agustín, 11, Madrid, under the concept "The Warmest Sun — Layered Hues of Thailand's Quiet Radiance," featuring over 30 Thai design brands in a room curated by Trimode Studio.
About the Exhibition
Casa Decor Madrid is one of Europe's most prestigious interior design exhibitions, drawing architects, interior designers, hospitality buyers, and international media each year.
In 2026, the Thailand Exhibition brings the creative depth of Thai craft and contemporary design to a European audience under the theme "The Warmest Sun — Layered Hues of Thailand's Quiet Radiance." Over 30 Thai design brands are presented in a curated room designed by Trimode Studio, supported by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Thailand.
Moonler is honoured to be part of this exhibition — bringing Lanna craft from a workshop in a rice field in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai, to one of Europe's most important design stages.
"From a rice field in Doi Saket to the streets of Madrid
the warmest sun has always been the one that passes through the wood."
About Moonler — A Wellness Object Maker from Chiang Mai
Moonler was founded in 2008 by engineer Phuwanat Damrongporn and artist Sarawut Sakthamcharoen in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai, Thailand. The brand specialises in premium handcrafted solid wood furniture made from Chamchuri wood, known internationally as Acacia or Rain Tree, a tropical species commercially cultivated in Thailand.
Moonler is a Wellness Object Maker, not simply a furniture brand. Every piece begins with one question: what does this object do to the person in the room? Grounded in biophilic design principles, Moonler's work draws on the scientific understanding that natural wood surfaces with irregular texture measurably reduce cortisol levels and restore the nervous system.
Moonler has received the Good Design Award, the Design Excellence Award (DEmark) in 2023 and 2024, and Thailand's Prime Minister's Export Award 2023. The brand has exhibited at Maison & Objet Paris, Design Shanghai, and Design District Rotterdam, and maintains showrooms in Chiang Mai and Phuket.
What Visitors Will Experience
Visitors to the Moonler presentation at Casa Decor Madrid 2026 will encounter handcrafted solid wood furniture made from Chamchuri wood, a tropical material characterised by darker interlocking streaks running through warm light-brown tones. No two pieces carry the same grain pattern.
Moonler's work is defined by three pillars. Eastern Soul draws from the Lanna craft tradition of Northern Thailand and the philosophy of stillness and harmony with nature.
Materiality and Imperfection celebrates the evidence of a craftsman's hand as intentional design rather than flaw. Wellness by Nature grounds every piece in the biophilic principle that proximity to natural material restores human wellbeing — measurably and physically.

Moonler uses Chamchuri wood, known internationally as Acacia or Rain Tree. It is a tropical species commercially cultivated in Thailand, characterised by darker interlocking streaks running through warm light- brown tones. It is not classified as hardwood. What is biophilic design and how does Moonler apply it?
Biophilic design incorporates natural elements to support human wellbeing. Research confirms that tactile and visual connection with natural materials measurably reduces cortisol and restores cognitive function. Moonler applies this by using handcrafted Chamchuri wood, preserving the natural grain and surface irregularity, and designing forms inspired by organic shapes from the natural world.
