The Pebble Stool's exposed surface is carved by a chisel, a common tool traditionally used by Sala (northern Thai craftsmen), from the rough surface through repeated chiseling into the wood until the surface of the wood is smooth to the curve.

This is the essence that the designers want to honor the virtue of the creators in preserving the local wisdom that puts their heart and dedication into their work. To proudly present their value from a small community in the North to the world.

งานแกะสลักไม้จามจุรี(ฉำฉา)เป็นหัตถกรรมดั้งเดิมของล้านนา ซึ่งเอกลักษณ์วิถีไทยเดิมที่ส่งต่อมาถึงปัจจุบัน แต่ทักษะฝีมือนี้กลับไม่ได้รับการต่อยอดไปสู่การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานที่ตอบโจทย์กับยุคสมัยมากนัก นักออกแบบจึงอยากทดลองนำทักษะโบราณนี้มาประยุกต์กับภาษางานออกแบบสากล นำพางานเฟอร์นิเจอร์ไม้จามจุรีเชียงใหม่ ออกสู่สากล

โดยมีแนวคิดของการนำวัสดุธรรมชาติมาใช้สร้างรูปทรงของธรรมชาติ เพื่อทำให้ผู้คนสามารถเห็นคุณค่าความงดงามที่เรียบง่ายนี้

พื้นผิวสัมผัสของเพบเบิลสตู ถูกทำขึ้นด้วยวิธีการแกะสลักจากสิ่ว ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องมือสามัญที่สล่า(ช่างฝีมือภาคเหนือ)ใช้มาแต่เดิม จากพื้นผิวขรุขระผ่านการตอกสิ่วลงไปในเนื้อไม้ซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า จนกระทั่งผิวของเนื้อไม้เรียบเนียนรับกับส่วนโค้ง

สิ่งนี้คือใจความสำคัญที่ผู้ออกแบบอยากเชิดชูความดีงามของผู้สร้างในการอนุรักษ์ภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น ที่ใส่หัวใจและการอุทิศตนลงไปในงานที่พวกเขาทำ เพื่อนำเสนอคุณค่าของพวกเขาจากชุมชนเล็กๆในภาคเหนือให้ออกไปสู่สายตาชาวโลกได้อย่างภาคภูมิใจ
